Style guide
The parts, unassembled
Every section this theme ships, once each, under the slug you type into the inserter to place it. The token sheet opens the page because every one of the specimens below is painted out of it.
Before launchThis page is a demonstration. Delete it, and the navigation row that points at it, before the site goes live — nothing else in the theme depends on either.
table-and-type/token-sheet
The tokens, the ladder and the presets
Every swatch paints from the live custom property rather than a printed hex, so the sheet cannot go stale in either mode or inside any variation.
Style guide
The tokens
Two modes, four variations, one set of values that every template, pattern and block reads.

The variations
A variation is a token swap and nothing else: it repaints the room and the ink, never the paper, and it moves nothing.
Base
Zinc. A Paris-style bistro: warm limestone paper, stamp red, one gold chip. Follows the reader’s system setting and the light/dark toggle.
Dark
The dark half of Zinc as the palette, in both modes: a site that is dark whatever the visitor’s system says.
Cresson
Watercress green and a blush slip, for a morning-and-brunch café.
Faïence
Enamel cobalt and an apricot slip, for a tiled bakery-café.
NoteThe four are named here rather than drawn side by side: a style variation is the whole document’s palette, so a second one cannot be painted inside the first. Switch them in Styles › Browse styles and this sheet repaints — which is the demonstration.

Why the rule changes with the hour
Two services fill the room, and a table held for four hours is three tables nobody else sat at. Outside those hours the room is half empty and a laptop costs nothing, so the rule follows the service rather than the day.
table-and-type/find-us-split
The record, and the block a reader takes with them

Booking a table
Our reservation partner takes the table; we keep the record. Supper and brunch take a booking, and the rest of the day is walk-in.

We show no live availability here; the partner’s page has the times. Booking opens in a new tab.
If the button does not open, the page is at bookings.example.com/your-café.
A booked table is held for 15 minutes. After that it goes to whoever is at the door.

Ask us instead
One note for a larger party or a voucher, answered by email — usually the same day.
Seven or more eat from a shorter card, which comes back with the answer. Tables of six and under go through the booking partner.
Gift vouchers are written by hand at the counter, in any amount, with no expiry. Ask for one by email and we will post it.
An enquiry is not a booking: nothing is held until we answer.

What we do with what you send
One person reads the enquiry and answers by email, usually the same day. It is used for that and for nothing else: no newsletter, no list, no advertising.
Seeing it, correcting it, or having it deleted
You may ask to see what we hold, have it corrected, have it deleted, and withdraw your consent at any time. One email to the address above does all four.
Who else sees it
Nobody. The enquiry reaches our own mailbox and is not passed on, sold, or used for marketing. The site runs no analytics, no advertising and no third-party script.
Cookies, and why there is no banner
The site keeps one thing in your browser: your choice of the light or the dark mode. It stays on your device, we never read it, and it is shared with nobody.
Allergies, and what we can promise
Tell us before you order and we will tell you exactly what is in a dish. One kitchen, shared boards and one fryer: we cannot promise a trace-free plate, and we would rather say so than say yes.
This page ships as a working shape. Replace every name, address and answer with your own, and have somebody qualified read it before launch. It is not legal advice.
